Microsoft Advertising to Google Sheets

Your Microsoft Advertising figures in a spreadsheet tab that refreshes on its own, so your reporting stays current without exports.

Your first scheduled report starts 30 days of Plus, free. No card needed.

Sign in with Google or a work or school Microsoft account.

Your Microsoft Advertising account can be personal or work.

The report builder's first step, with Microsoft Advertising chosen as the source and its account picked.
Fresh Sheets reads your accounts and writes the latest figures only to each report’s own tab, worksheet or table.

What lands in your spreadsheet

Impressions, clicks, spend, average CPC and average CPM, by day if you want it, at account, campaign, ad group or keyword level. Fresh Sheets requests days in your advertising account's time zone.

  • Each report owns a tab, and everything in it is replaced on every refresh. Nothing else in the spreadsheet is touched.
  • It runs whether the spreadsheet is open or not. Refreshes happen on our servers, so the numbers are current when you open the file, not when you remember to.
Setting it up

Microsoft Ads to Google Sheets, in three steps

  1. 01In Sources, connect Microsoft Advertising and sign in with the Microsoft account that has access to your advertising account.
  2. 02Build a report: choose the account, a level, your fields and dates.
  3. 03Choose the tab, worksheet or table it writes to, and how often it refreshes.

Scheduling and refresh

How often depends on your plan: every week on Free, every day on Plus, every 6 hours on Pro and every hour on Max.

Each run that succeeds counts once towards your plan, wherever it sends.

Other ways to do it

Microsoft Advertising can download a report as a file, and email one to you on a schedule.

Either way you get a file to bring into the spreadsheet yourself. Fresh Sheets writes the figures straight into the tab.

Access

What it can see, and what it cannot

Microsoft grants one permission for its advertising API, and it allows changes as well as reading. Our code only ever requests reports and lists of your accounts. It never issues a change to a campaign, budget or bid.

Sending a report to Google Sheets, Excel or BigQuery needs its own connection or dataset, which you set up once.

FAQ

Questions

How often does a Microsoft Advertising report refresh?

As often as your plan allows: every week on Free, every day on Plus, every 6 hours on Pro and every hour on Max.

Can I choose which campaigns and fields I get?

Yes. You choose the account, the level, the fields and the dates, and you can filter by name, ID or status.

How many rows can a report have?

Up to 100,000 rows each run. A report that would return more stops without writing any figures and says why, so shorten the dates or remove a field.

Can Fresh Sheets change my campaigns?

Microsoft's advertising permission allows changes as well as reading, but our code only ever requests reports and lists of your accounts. It never issues a change.

What are Microsoft Ads called now?

Microsoft Advertising. It used to be called Bing Ads.
