What you can pull from Shopify
Choose orders or products sold, then the fields you want from that report.
Amounts are in your store's own currency, and days are your store's days. Test orders are left out.
Yesterday's orders, already in the tab
Shopify, written to Products sold
- Each report owns a tab, and everything in it is replaced on every refresh. Nothing else in the spreadsheet is touched.
- It runs whether the spreadsheet is open or not. Refreshes happen on our servers, so the numbers are current when you open the file, not when you remember to.
Three things to choose, once
- 01Add Fresh Sheets to a spreadsheet and connect your Google account. Then the store owner, or staff allowed to develop apps, creates an app in Shopify with read access to orders, and you paste its client ID and secret into your Fresh Sheets account.
- 02Pick orders or products sold, the fields you want, and a date range.
- 03Say which tab it writes to and how often it refreshes.
What it can see, and what it cannot
Fresh Sheets connects to Shopify through an app your store creates. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Apps, then Develop apps, which opens Shopify's Dev Dashboard. No code is involved: create the app, give it read access to orders, install it on your store, and copy its client ID and secret into Fresh Sheets. Only the store owner, or staff with permission to develop apps, can create it.
Fresh Sheets requires the scopes read_orders and read_all_orders on that app, and checks its client ID and secret with Shopify before saving them. Credentials Shopify will not give access with, or an app that cannot read orders from any date, are refused and nothing is stored. The second scope, read_all_orders, is what lets reports go back more than 60 days.
Our code only ever reads from Shopify, even if the app you create allows more. It sends Shopify nothing but read queries and a request for a short-lived access token, and it refuses anything else before the request is sent. It never creates, edits or deletes an order, a product or anything else in your store.
It never asks Shopify for a customer's name, email address, postal address or phone number.
Shopify app credentials are stored encrypted and are never shown back to you. You can replace or remove them at any time on your connections page. Removing them stops the reports that read through them and leaves what they already wrote in your spreadsheets. It does not uninstall the app from your store, which is yours to uninstall there.
Writing into your spreadsheet still goes through your Google account. Fresh Sheets asks for its Google data permissions in one consent screen, so you will see Google Analytics, Google Ads and Search Console listed there even if you only report on Shopify. Every scope is set out in full on our privacy page.
Writing happens only in the spreadsheets you pick, one at a time, through Google's own file picker. Fresh Sheets never sees the rest of your Drive. Fresh Sheets never changes anything you did not ask it to.
Your data is never sold and never used to train anything.

How often depends on your plan: every day on Plus, every 6 hours on Pro and every hour on Max.
Questions
Can you export Shopify orders to Google Sheets?
Yes. Fresh Sheets writes your Shopify orders, or the products sold in them, into a spreadsheet you already have, in a tab you choose, on a schedule, without the file being open.
Are refunds and cancelled orders included?
Cancelled orders are included. In an orders report the Cancelled column tells them apart; a products sold report counts their items too. Refunded shows what has been refunded on an order, counted on the day the order was placed. Test orders are left out.
How often can it refresh?
Choose the schedule when you build the report, and it runs on our servers from then on. How often depends on your plan: every day on Plus, every 6 hours on Pro and every hour on Max.
How many orders can one report read?
Up to 10,000 in its date range. If a range holds more, or takes too long to read, the refresh stops and says so rather than writing a total over part of it, so choose a shorter range. A products sold report also stops on an order with more than 250 line items.
Does it change anything in Shopify?
No. Fresh Sheets only reads from Shopify. It never creates, edits or deletes an order, a product or anything else in your store.
Who can set it up?
The store owner, or staff with permission to develop apps. Collaborator accounts cannot create the app, so if you manage a store for a client, the owner creates it and shares the client ID and secret with you.
