Search Console to Google Sheets
Export your search performance to a spreadsheet, and what to do when 1,000 rows isn't enough.
Search Console will happily send your data to Google Sheets. It just won't send you all of it.
The free way: export the Performance report
- In Search Console, open the Performance report.
- Set the date range and any filters you want.
- Click Export and choose Google Sheets. Excel and CSV are there too.

The 1,000-row catch
The export is cut to 1,000 rows of representative examples. The totals at the top are the real totals, so the rows underneath won't add up to them. For a small site that's fine. For a site with a long tail of queries, you're reading a sample.
The API goes further. Google returns up to 50,000 rows of performance data a day, per search type, per property.

On a schedule with Fresh Sheets
Fresh Sheets reads through the API, on a schedule, whether or not the spreadsheet is open.
- Install Fresh Sheets from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
- In your spreadsheet, choose Extensions, then Fresh Sheets, then Open sidebar, and connect your Google account.
- Click New report, choose Search Console, then your site.
- Pick your fields. The preview shows the first rows as you go.
- Set the dates and a schedule, choose the tab it writes to, and click Save and run.
What lands in the tab
Pick from date, query, page, country, device and search appearance, with clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. The report owns its tab and replaces it on every run, so point your formulas and charts at that tab and they keep working.
Good to know
- Fresh Sheets only reads finalised data, so today is never included.
- Reports cover web search results.
- Filters work on dimensions, not on clicks or position.
