An example
Insert a PivotTable on a separate worksheet that reads from the Sessions by channel worksheet, with Channel group in Rows and Sessions in Values.
Scheduling and refresh
How often depends on your plan: every week on Free, every day on Plus, every 6 hours on Pro and every hour on Max.
Each run that succeeds counts once towards your plan, wherever it sends.
Each run replaces the worksheet with the latest figures.
Other ways to do it
GA4 can download a report as a CSV or PDF file, or export it to Google Sheets, from Share this report.
This GA4 Excel integration writes the report straight into your worksheet instead.
Only the worksheets your reports use
While you choose where a report goes, Fresh Sheets reads the names of the files and folders in your OneDrive and shows you only folders and workbooks. When a report refreshes, it reads and replaces that report's own worksheet. It creates a new workbook only when you ask it to, and doesn't change or delete anything else in your OneDrive.
Questions
How do I export data from GA4 to Excel?
Connect Google on the Sources page and Microsoft Excel on the Destinations page, then build a GA4 report that writes to a worksheet in your workbook. It refreshes on the schedule you pick, so there's no file to download each time.
How do I automate GA4 reports?
Build the report once and pick how often under Schedule. How often depends on your plan, and each run replaces the worksheet with the latest figures.
